Kansas basketball recruiting target Romeo Langford, a 6-foot-5 senior shooting guard from New Albany (Ind.) High School, will announce his college choice at 6 p.m. Central time April 30 at his high school’s gymnasium.
Langford, who is ranked No. 6 in the recruiting class of 2018 by Rivals.com, has a final list of KU, Indiana and Vanderbilt. At one time he also had Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, UCLA and Louisville on his list of schools.
Langford’s dad, Tim Langford, told the Louisville Courier-Journal on Wednesday he had no comment on Tuesday’s revelation that two unidentified KU players were tied to the FBI’s case on corruption in college basketball recruiting. He told the paper the family would meet to discuss how the situation might affect Romeo’s decision. KU remained on Langford’s list of three finalists Wednesday.
Langford, who averaged 35.5 points a game his senior season, is the No. 4 scorer in Indiana high school boys basketball history.
He will compete in the Nike Hoops Summit at 9 p.m. Friday. It will be broadcast on ESPN2. Wednesday's news was reported first by 247sports.com, with Tim Langford confirming the decision date to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Rivals.com and others.
