ABOUT WEST VIRGINIA (24-9): Bob Huggins is 4-13 all-time against KU (4-9 at West Virginia, 0-1 at Cincinnati and 0-3 at Kansas State). … West Virginia finished second in the Big 12 standings for the third straight year. The Mountaineers, who reached the Big 12 tourney final for the third straight year, lost to KU in 2016 and Iowa State in 2017. … KU prevailed 81-71 in the 2016 final at the Sprint Center. Devonté Graham scored 27 points, Wayne Selden had 21 and Perry Ellis added 17 for KU; Devin Williams scored 31 for West Virginia. …West Virginia and KU are the only two teams to win 11 or more Big 12 games in each of the last four seasons. … Jevon Carter was chosen the league’s defensive player of the year for the second consecutive year. Carter is the only player in West Virginia history to have more than 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists. Iowa State’s Monte Morris and KU’s Kirk Hinrich are the only other two players in Big 12 history to have achieved the same feat. … The Mountaineers force opponents to turn it over on 23.1 percent of their possessions, the second-best mark in the country.

ABOUT KANSAS (26-7): KU leads the all-time series, 9-4. Kansas has won five of the last six meetings. The Jayhawks beat West Virginia 71-66 on Jan. 15 to snap a four-game losing streak at WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W. Va., and defeated the Mountaineers 77-69 on Feb. 17 at Allen Fieldhouse. KU shot 26 of 35 free throws that day to West Virginia’s 1 of 2. … Bill Self is 9-4 against West Virginia. … Self has a career record of 650-200, including 451-95 at Kansas. He is 38-12 in conference tournament play, 29-7 while at Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament. … KU is 37-9 all-time at the Sprint Center, including 2-1 this season. … Devonté Graham has posted eight or more assists in four straight games and 15 times this season. … Graham’s eight assists Friday against Kansas State moved him past Jacque Vaughn into sixth place on KU’s single-season assists list (241). …Marcus Garrett was 5 of 27 on three-pointers in his first 19 games but is 7 of 15 from beyond the arc in the last 14 outings. … Malik Newman has scored 52 points in the Big 12 tourney. He will need to score 15 points in Saturday’s final to tie Paul Pierce’s KU record in a postseason tourney. Pierce scored 67 points in the 1998 Big 12 tourney.
